If any resident would like a neighbourhood watch on their street please ask your neighbours if they are interested and come and speak to us about it. I am trying to get new neighbourhood watch coordinators on each street so a representative can come to the PACT meetings resulting in everybody having a say in where the priorities should be for the month and where residents would like me to patrol as a priority.

New police non emergency number

The new police non-emergency number is 101 and is being rolled out nationally

         ·   101 is the new number to call police in non-            emergencies. In an emergency always dial 999.

·      101 is being introduced across the country and will go live in Lancashire on Monday 12th December 2011.

·         101 will replace the current non emergency number 0845 1 253545.

·         101 is a simple number that should make it easier for people to contact the police to report crime and any other concerns they may have that don’t require an emergency response.

·         When you call we aim to act on the information we receive quickly.

·         Calls will cost just 15p from a landline or mobile regardless of when you call or how long your call is.

·         The 0845 1 253545 will remain for at least twelve months when its use will be assessed. If necessary it will be kept for longer.

If you wish to know more, including when you should use 101, the link to the Home Officewebsite has full detials. The link is as follows:-
